For Holiday Fun attend Galleria, an art gala in Pacifica. There will be hundreds of artworks and open studios.
In the East Wing, my own mini-show features a selection of my amazing Pysanky Eggs for sale as hanging ornaments, or to sit on a stand. My tubular peyote stitch necklaces are there too, and all make lovely, unique gifts.
Please drop by and say hi and enjoy the event. Free live music and refreshments are offered at the grand opening Friday, 11/30/12 between 7 & 9 pm. The show is also open weekends from 1-5 pm Dec. 1-2, 8-9, & 15-16.

"Pulse" is a meditation of darkness and life that I created as my niece struggled with addiction and recovery. I felt connected with Rothko's dark, meditative pieces, particularly the Rothko Chapel paintings. I visualized Morton Feldman's Music for the Rothko Chapel to be played while viewing "Pulse". May we have the strength to choose life and keep the pulse.

Latest Contemporary Pysanky
Although I was not juried into the 50-50 IV Show, I continue on my exploration with Pysanky eggs. Here are some of my latest experiments.
| Acid Wash Egg |
I used dark dyes with a wax resist, then bathed the egg in a vinegar solution that allowed the color on the unwaxed areas to be released. It is wiped, then the remaining wax is melted off giving this result. It reminds me of scrimshaw.
| Cabbage Patch Egg |
I let the raised calcium dimples on this egg inspire the design, covering the yellow bumps with wax as a first step. The reminded me of a constellation of stars, and the design evolved.
